Dandouchi is the fermented ripened seeds of Glycine max( L.) Merr., pertaining to Leguminosae. It is sun dried . The raw form is used.
[ Medicinal Properties ]: Bitter,pungent and cool; relate to lung and stomach meridians.
[ Medicinal Efficacies ]: Relieve exterior, stop uneasiness; disperse depressed heat.
[ Usage and Dosage ]: 6-12 g.
[ Clinical Applications]: 1. External contraction of exterior syndrome It treats external contraction of wind-heat or early stage of warm disease, both manifesting as fever, little aversion to wind-heat, headache, thirst and sore throat, in combination with Jinyinhua, Lianqiao and Bohe, such as in Yinqiao Powder. Also it treats common cold of wind-heat in early stage, which manifests as aversion to cold, fever, no sweat, headache, and nasal congestion, in combination with Congbai; for example in Congchi Decoction.
2. Heat disease, uneasiness and stuffiness in chest, insomnia It treats pathogenic heat accunmulating inside chest in heat disease due to external contraction, manifesting as anguishing sensation in heart, uneasiness, fever and insomnia; for example in Zhizichi Decoction.
