[ Medicinal Properties ]: Bitter, warm; relate to kidney and liver meridians.
[ Medicinal Efficacites ]: Activate blood and treat trauma; tonify the kidney and strengthen the bones.
[ Clinical Applications ]: 1. Trauma, broken tendon and fracture and bleeding of incised wound To treat trauma, it can be taken orally, alone soaked in liquor and at the same time ground into powder for external application. Also, it can be combined with Xuduan, Tubiecong and Ruxiang. For a broken tendon and fracture and incised wound, it is usually combined with Zirantong and Moyao.
2. Lumbar pain, tinnitus and durative diarrhea due to kidney insufficiency For lumbar pain and feebleness, due to kidney insufficiency, it is usually used together with Buguzhi and Niuxi. In cases of tinnitus and deafness due to kidney insufficiency, it can be taken individually simmered in a pig's kidney or combined with Shudihuang and Shanzhuyu. 骨碎补为水龙骨科植物槲蕨Drynaria fortunei(Kunze)J.SM.或中华槲蕨D.baronii(Chrise)的根茎。前者产于浙江、湖北、广东、广西、四川;后者主产于陕西、甘肃、青海、四川等。全年均可采挖,以冬春两季为主。除去叶及鳞片,洗净,润透,切片,干燥。生用或砂烫用。
