It is the block of OPhicalcite,family metamorphic rocks. It is collected all year round. The mixed stone and mud removed, it is washed clearn, dried and sashed into pieces, after which it is calcined with fire and ground into powder for use.

[ Medicinal Properties ]: Sour, astringent, neutral; relate to liver meridian.

[ Medicinal Efficacies ]: Remove blood stasis and stop bleeding.

[ Clinical Applications ]: Bleeding     It is used for various forms of bleeding with stasis, such as hematemesis, hemoptysis and bleeding due to trauma. it can both stop bleeding by astringing and circulate the blood by removing stasis. For hematemesis due to stasis, it can be used separately, calcined into powder and consumed with liquor or vinegar, mixed with child's urine. For bleeding due to trauma, it can be individually ground into powder for external application, or combined with Liuhuang.

[ Usage and Dosage ]: 10-15g, decoeted wrapped; ground into powder, 1-.5g for swallow per time. Appropriate amount for external application with powder orprocessed paste.

[ Precautions ]: It is contraindicated in pregnant women.

花蕊石为变质岩类岩石蛇纹大理岩Ophicalcite.的石块。主产于陕西、河南、河北、浙江、江苏、湖南、山西、山东、四川等地。全年可采，除去杂石及泥沙，洗净，干燥，砸成碎块用；或经火煅，研细后用。
