It is the flower of Rosa chinensis Jacq.,family Rosebush Province is the main producer of Yuejihua which is of the best quality. It can be collected all year ruond, when flowers come into blossom. It is dried in shade, or at low temperature and then ready to be used as a medicine.

[ Medicinal Properties]: Sweet, bland, slightly bitter and neutral; relate to liver meridian.

[ Medicinal Efficacies ]: Activate blood and regulate menstruation; soothe liver and dispel depression; dissipate swelling and remove toxin.

[ Clinical Applications ]: 1. Stagnation of liver blood, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrheal,amenorrhea and distending pain in chest and flank        To treat stagnation of liver blood, causing irregular menstruation, dysmenorrheal, amenorrhea and disstending pain in the chest and the flank, it can be taken orally, consumed by itself in boiled water, or it can be combined together with Meiguihua, Danggui and Xiangfu.

2.Trauma, swollen pain due to stasis, carbuncle and swollen toxin and scrofula          To treat trauma with swollen pain, as well as , carbucle and swollen toxin, it can be used by itself, pounded to pieces for external application or gruond to powder and taken with water. In cases of swollen pain of non-ulcerated scrofula, it is combined together with Xiakucao and Muli.

[ Usage and Dosage ]: 2-5g. Do not decoct for a long period of time. It can be steeped or ground into powder. The appropriate amount is utilized for external application.

[ Precautions ]: It is not suitable to be taken above the recommended dosage. It should be used with caution for pregnant women.

月季花为蔷薇科植物月季Rosa chinesis Jacq.的花。全国各地均产，多为栽培，主产于江苏、山东、山西、河北等地，以江苏产量大、品质佳。全年均可采收，花微开时采摘。阴干或低温干燥。
