It has the same source with Zhuru. It is the settled yellowish juice execrated from the fresh stem of Bambusa tuldoides Munro and Phyllostachys nigra(Lodd.)Munro var. henonis(Mitf.)Stapf ex Rendle, family Gramineae when the stem is baked.
[ Medicinal Properties ]: Sweet and cold; relate to heart, lung and liver meridians.
[ Meidicnal Efficacies ]: Clear heat to resolve phlegm for resuscitation; arrest convulsion.
[ Clinical Applications ]: 1. Phlegm-heat, stubborn phlegm accumulationn It treats phlegm-heat causing cough and dyspnea, thick sputum difficult to expectorate and stubborn phlegm accumulation, in combination with Banxia and Huangqin.
2. Apoplexy, epilepsy and mania For apoplexy with lockjaw, it is combined with ginger juice for drinking; for infantie epilepsy, combined with Dannanxing and Niuhuang. Recently , frequently drinking Zhuli treats encephalitis B and epidemic encephalitis with high fever, phlegm confusion and vomiting.
[ Usage and Dosage ]: 30-50g is taken after it is infused. It cannot be stored for long. In the recent years, it is put into sealed ampoule bottles for longer storage.
[ Precautions ]: Since it is cold and smooth, it cannot treat cold-phlegm and spleen deficiency with loose stools.
